Burnt Sazerac


Ingredients

  • 2 oz Bourbon of choice
  • 5 dashes of Peychaud's Bitters (or any bitters you prefer)
  • 1/4 oz Cassia Burnt Sugar Syrup
  • 3/4 oz Absinthe 

Directions

  1. Combine the first three ingredients in a mixing glass with ice - stir well. 
  2. In a separate glass (this will be your serving glass), add the Absinthe. Char, rinse, and dump it out. (Click here to see how this is done.)
  3. Pour the drink from your mixing glass into the absinthe glass. 
  4. Garnish with citrus twist (optional).
